We are alive.....

It has only been close to 4 months since I last updated this blog......allot has happened in those few months. On August 15th we found out that we will be adding to our family. We are super excited and a little overwhelmed at the same time. 3 kids 3 and under will be a handful, but at the same time we just feel blessed to get them here while we still can. We will find out next week what we are having. Since we already have one of each it really doesn't matter, but if I could pick I would pick a girl so that Austyn has a sister to be close with. I don't know what I would do without my sister Lindsey.
Back in October Aaron's work gave him a week off so we decided to try and make the best of it. We spent a few days in Delta where I finished my first quilt. I will have to get a picture of it on here, it is pretty cute! Then we traveled up to Eagle Mountain and stayed with one of Aaron's missionary companions and his family for a few days. While we were there we took our kids to the zoo for the first time. It was so fun to see their faces looking at all the cute animals.
Then we celebrated Halloween. All these holiday just keep getting better and better as our kids get old enough to know what is going on. Austyn is still pretty young, but Daxton seems to be grasping the concept. This year Daxton was a rooster and Austyn was a baby chick. They looked dang cute!!
There are lots of pictures, but when you don't update in 4 months it is hard to leave any out......

Driving to Delta, don't let them fool you they aren't always this loving to one another....

Daxton and Santa

I could not believe that Austyn actually sat on Santa's lap and didn't cry. She must be getting better at her phobia of strangers.

Hope you all have a happy holiday season!!

Delta, Utah

We spent last weekend in Delta with Aaron's parents. Daxton was in his glory! He loved every single second we were there. We had a great time spending time with Will and Julie.Daxton was finally brave enough to let this bird sit on his shoulder, even though Daxton was pretty freaked out by it.
Grandma read lots of books to Daxton. This one seemed to be the favorite one.

Austyn and cousin Hanna cooped up in the play pen. They both kept trying to escape, it was fun to watch them interact with one another. Hanna was quite tolerant of Austyn's wild side.
These poor kittens were nice enough to let Daxton haul them around. It was so fun to watch Daxton with them.
Getting ready to watch Aaron light off the fireworks....in August. Both kids enjoyed the show. Daxton found grandmas snorkle and goggles. They will never be the same again....
We think he is pretty funny!
Using the pillowcase grandma made him as a hat on the ride home.

Our Baby Is almost 1

Self concious
Here are the latest pictures of Austyn. I took her in today to have them taken. She wouldn't cooperate one bit. It was pretty frustrating to have her grabbing my shirt the entire time. She was being super shy and wouldn't even look at the picture lady without crying. I am really glad these 2 turned out as well as they did considering.....good thing I love this little stinker!!
She will be a year old on Saturday. I can't even believe how fast the time has flown. It really seems to fly so much faster with #2 for some reason. Austyn has been a pure joy to have in our family. She is so cute and LOUD!!!! Any of you that have heard her scream can attest to that, along with anyone in our ward because they all here her every Sunday at some point. She is walking pretty good. She really looks unstable when you watch her walk, but she does it just fine. She has 8 teeth...4 on top...4 on the bottom, and she sure knows how to use them to make me scream. She HATES baby food and hasn't been eating it for several months now. She just wants to be a big girl and eat what we are eating. She does pretty well chewing her food. She has quite the little temper (she gets this from her dad :) and she knows what she wants and when she wants it. If she has something in her hand and you try and take it from her, she has a great death grip on it. I even sometimes have a hard time getting things from her that she doesn't want to let go of. We have been blessed to have 2 very strong kids thus far. She is also a bully, she picks on her cousin that is Daxton's age, and she can hold her own. She is a big momma's girl, which can be fun and a pain at the same time. If you talk to her and I am holding her, she will bury her head in my shoulder and try and hide from you. She is pretty sober, and it takes her a while to warm up to people. She follows Daxton everywhere he goes and she wants to be right by his side (or in his lap). He doesn't appreciate this as much as she does. I think she is kind of a pest to him. It is cute to see her want to do big kid things though. She keeps me on my toes that is for sure. Just as Daxton outgrows a bad habit, like climbing on the kitchen chairs, Austyn starts doing it. One day we will be able to leave the chairs at the table, just not know.
Just wanted to share a few fun things about our baby girl who is growing up too fast!!
We love our Austyn Jay!!!

Fun in July....

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to this HOTTTTTT month of July....

Daxton riding the train at the park's celebration on the 4th...
and he rode these swings...
it was pretty sweaty that day out in all the heat. We cooled off with some snow cones. Austyn loved hers!

We went with my sister Lindsey and her husband Chris and his parents and grandparents up to Enterprise fishing. We didn't catch anything worth taking home, or probably even worth taking a picture of, but Daxton was pretty excited to have his picture taken with dad's fish.
My parents took Lindsey and I and all 4 of the grand kids to Sand Hallow this past Friday on the boat. It was tons of fun. Nothing like cooling off in the lake on a hot summers day. Everyone had a blast. Austyn was a PERFECT ANGEL the entire time. I was kinda worried how she would do since she is such a busy body. Once I put the life jacket on her she acted paralyzed. She sat totally still and just used her eyes to look all around. My mom had to lay her on the seat for a minute to do something, and Austyn just layed perfectly still, totally content. That's my girl!!!

Taegan ready for a ride on grandpa's boat...

Daxton's cheesy smile...

Lindsey and I rode on the tube with both boys, but as soon as we started going Daxton said "I'm done". Taegan just held his hand over his nose the whole time we were on the tube, so I am sure he was a little freaked out. The boys were happy just to be in the boat. The best part they thought was driving with grandpa. They fought back and forth the whole time over who could drive the boat...

CHEESE!!!

Almost ready to head home!!
I am ready for summer to be over. October weather sounds a little better right now to me....but I guess we will just soak up the sun in the meantime.

Santa Claus & a frog in the tub

We are working on the whole potty training thing at our house. It seems to be quite the process....anyhow. Today Daxton was messing around in his room and he had been pretty quiet. I went in to see what he was up too. This is what I found....
yes that is a pull-up on his face. I said "Daxton what are you doing?" To which he replied, "I am not Daxton, I am Santa Claus!!" He showed me that was his beard on his face. This little boy keeps me laughing everyday. I am truly amazed at the things his brain thinks about! I know I am his mom, and most mom's say this about their own kids, but I think he is pretty smart!!

We were having (& still are) some water issues at our house. Lucky for us, my parents live close by and are always willing to come help when they can. So my dad and brother came over to help Aaron. My brother had just caught this huge frog in the bug catcher so my mom brought it with them because she knew Daxton would want to see it. It was the funniest thing ever to watch him hold this handle. Whenever the frog would hop, Daxton would kinda shriek and was iffy. I laughed my head off. It was so cute. He wanted so bad to hold it, but he just couldn't make himself get near it. We took it outside and let it hop around on the grass. Daxton was just following right behind it trying to pick it up, but of course every time he would bend down to pick it up, the frog would hop. Daxton would kinda shriek and step back. It was really cute to watch!

Austyn never wants to miss out on the action!

Finally an update....

I haven't posted on here in a while...all my spare time (which is minimal) has been taken up scrap booking. Thankfully I am totally caught up, well for now. It doesn't seem to take long to get behind again......
anyways here are some pictures of what we have been up to the past month.
We had a family reunion in Pine Valley last weekend. It was our first camping trip as a family. We survived, it was freezing cold at night, but we survived!! The above picture is of Daxton beating sticks on an electrical box...
Dad and Austyn, yes that is Austyn under all those blue clothes. I didn't have any warm clothes for her so I got Daxton's old ones out.

Happy to be out of the car!!

This baby LOVES water! Both my kids do, but Austyn really seems to enjoy it. My mom and I took the kids to the splash pad here in town. It was so much fun for the kids. Austyn usually just army crawls, but she didn't like the feel of the cement on her legs so this was her position.

Cutest chubby legs EVER!

If you have a runny nose, Daxton is the man to help you out.
Hmmmm wonder where he learned this trick.....

So sober!!

Love them blue eyes!

We took tin foil dinners up to Browse over Mothers day weekend.

Betcha' can't do this.

That is all for now.
